Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS) Cadaver Workshop
The ACPS Cadaver workshop is an exciting opportunity for podiatrists and surgeons who want to improve their knowledge and understanding of functional anatomy, musculoskeletal assessment, surgical techniques, and skills such as dissection, regional anaesthesia blocks, toenail and wart surgery in a hands-on environment.
Being hosted at the Surgical Skills Laboratory, within Adelaide Medical School, at the University of Adelaide, this lab is frequently used for surgical training to enhance clinical skills and is equipped with highest quality audio visual equipment for the ultimate experience.
The workshop will include use of state-of-the-art technology and access to fresh frozen human cadavers, which have the same appearance and handling qualities as living tissue and provide the perfect base for improving clinical skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s most experienced Podiatric Surgeons in a small group environment.
The hands-on component will be very practical and will involve demonstration and facilitation by 4-6 Fellows of the ACPS. This ratio of Fellows to participants is a unique educational opportunity for podiatrists. Participants will be able to inject, dissect and examine the anatomy of fresh-frozen foot and ankle specimens.
Numbers are limited and will be capped at 24 participants. Participants are eligible for 8 CPD hours.
