The 2019 Australian Podiatry Conference, like its predecessors, will be one of the largest podiatry conferences in the world. We anticipate that 700-plus podiatrists will attend, including clinicians in private practice, hospital and public sector podiatrists, academics, recent graduates and current students. Adding in exhibitor staff, speakers, workshop facilitators, and guests of the association, will see numbers swell to over 1,000.
We have a tremendously exciting scientific programme planned, and will welcome colleagues from near and far, including four international keynote speakers and a further six national invited speakers, supported by local experts and many peer contributors. Delegates will also have access to a range of targeted hands-on workshops, set within the exhibition space, where clinical skills and extended tutorage will occur.
The conference theme addresses Physical Activity – Feet – Wider Health – clearly a topic of global relevance with the rapid rise in non-communicable diseases (diabetes, arthritis, obesity, cancer, heart disease) and links with physical inactivity. Given that most forms of physical activity involve walking and running, Foot Health is fundamental, but often overlooked.
The wonderful arts, music, wine, sporting, gourmet-yet-organic city of Adelaide will provide a great welcome to all attending podiatrists and related health professionals from across the globe. As a very ‘walkable’ city, Adelaide is a great location to gain new knowledge in all areas of podiatry, and to get ‘out and about’ socially and actively.
We look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide and to sharing in our mutually exciting conference developments over the coming months.
Thank you so much for joining us at what will be a fabulous Australian Podiatry Conference - May 22 – 24 2019 in Adelaide!
